The Carousel House is an active project with lead designer Brittany Venner. In this project Studio Birdy has provided the technical drawings, renders, furniture space planning and design consultation throughout the project.

The Carousel House (1969) is a special home consisting of unique octagonal roofs joined together with structural beams mimicking a carousel. Rooms are joined with expansive windows to views of giant sequoias, redwoods and other massive evergreens. Originally designed by architect Marjorie Wintermute and owned by the same family for generations, the home has largely been untouched- preserving most of the thoughtful original mid-century design.

The new design brings function for the new owner while preserving the original design intent of the home with warmth, minimalism and elevated mid-century design.
